Founder of Third London Wall
Mike is a project management specialist with over 30 years’ experience. Mike moved from a successful career as a main contractor’s project manager (CIOB Major Projects Finalist in 1991) to be an in-house project manager for London & Edinburgh Trust (LET) in late 1991 and with a colleague set up and ran a successful project management unit, Second London Wall Management Company (SLW).
As LET’s focus moved towards property and asset management Mike and his fellow director took the SLW business private and began to provide their services to external development companies.
After a successful ten-year trading SLW was integrated with one of the UK’s major property consultancy firms GVA and under Mike’s leadership SLW’s turnover, headcount and profitability grew fivefold.
As well as a tried and trusted business leader Mike is a dedicated, hardworking and skilled exponent of project management. Mike’s experience and expertise spans from pre-purchase survey and report to project inception and on through the entire project lifecycle and the soft landings, handover, operate and maintain phase. In addition to project management, Mike is a successful contract administrator particularly under design and build forms of contract.
Mike heads up TLW’s consultancy services for projects under stress, where an independent opinion on direction, strategy and positive actions have been proven to make a difference and redirect schemes to a successful outcome.
Projects successfully completed under Mike’s leadership include 80 Charlotte Street for Derwent, Barts Square for Helical, CB1 Cambridge for Brookgate, Fitzroy Place for Aviva and Exemplar, One Hyde Park Knightsbridge for PGGL, Bishops Square Spitalfields for Hammerson and 7&8 St. James’s Square for Green Property.
Mike has collaborated with and managed and co-ordinated design teams led by signature architects including Foster & Partners, David Chipperfield, Richard Rogers, Eric Parry and Rab Bennett. His technical, communication and management skills, along with a collaborative, product-focused way of working give projects the absolute best chance of success.
